Broccoli and Aloe Vera

No rain today, but the allergens (dust and mold) in the air are making it impossible to be outside right now. I'm getting the worst sneezing fits every time I step out there. I can barely function! 🤧

I never used to be affected by allergies before, but I guess that's changing as I get older.

Luckily though, I got some garden time earlier this week- and I took a couple of photos of the new plants (and the basil).



I'm planning on taking pictures to track their progress. Maybe twice a month? 🤔

You can grow through winter outdoors?!!

I know you can for sure here in zone 9b, especially if you stick with the cold-tolerant crops (root vegetables, leafy greens, etc.). Some of them (like carrots) will even taste better the colder that the weather gets! Of course, we still have to make efforts to protect our plants if/when the weather dips below freezing, but that's typically only for a few days out of the season. We usually have relatively mild winters here.

Though, I once saw a vlog of a woman harvesting some beautiful crops from her garden that was full on buried in several inches of snow, so maybe it's possible elsewhere as well?
